Wonderland's Wonderful Masks

Marvellous mask

So, the summer project is here! Hence my absence from the world of blog as I have been deep in preparation for this wonderous event. Wonderland is a week long community arts project, organised and delivered by arts collective Impecunious . This year we are at Botcherby Community Centre, you can follow the fun on our facebook page. A full update will (probably) follow but for now here are some marvellous masks that I have been making with some of the participants.

Quilt-Yet more progress

Detail: Tigerpillar

Finally, the first layer of 'Magikal Forest' is complete. Everyone has sewn on their additions; a host of ladybirds, a pair of love birds, flowers, dogs and snails to name a few. All the members involved with the project have sewn at least one of their patches on and then due to time restraints I spent my Thursday evening sewing on the rest. I'm really excited about us making it up into a quilt now, it looks so good. We got lots of positive comments about it at the tea party yesterday (see previous post.)

In out textile group we have started stitching the magical tree to the background using blanket stitch. We've got a lot of stitching ahead of us!
